Description

A 10km family mini descent starting from the Yenne white water stadium (Savoie), between islands, mountains and suspension bridges, discover a fun course from the Balme gorges to the Peyrieu jet ski club.(Ain)
The Gorges de la Balme, also known as the Cluse de la Balme or the Défilé de Pierre-Châtel, are a gorge in the Rhône valley on the border between the communes of Virignin and Nattages in the Ain département and Balme and Yenne in Savoie. The gorges separate the Mont Tournier range from the Parves mountain range. The natural course of the Rhône flows through them, leaving the diversion canal on the Bugey side. Two bridges cross the Rhône at gorge level: the Balme bridge and the Yenne suspension bridge. The gorges de la Balme are part of the Lac du Bourget - Chautagne-Rhône Natura 2000 site. The 17-hectare site was classified by decree on May 31, 2013. Descents accessible from age 5.
