The route from Yenne passes through the communes of Yenne, Saint-Paul-sur-Yenne, Saint-Jean-de-Chevelu, La Chapelle-du-Mont-du-Chat, Ontex, Saint-Pierre-de-Curtille, Lucey, Jongieux and Billième. The Chapelle St Romain viewpoint can be reached from an unpaved rural road in Jongieux-Le-Haut.
